We are the GOP and we will take our party back!

We can and will vote democrat in this election because it’s not about the team, it’s not about the party, it’s not about the game of thrones, it’s about real people, real policies, real power, it’s about a real America from the Mountains of Appalachia to the streets of Chicago. We can and will Do It For America!

PROFILES IN COURAGE

Mitt Romney.jpg

MITT ROMNEY

Senator Mitt Romney is first and foremost a man of business. He decided he wanted his business to be about the American people and the policies that shape them. He became a formidable contender for Massachusetts senator when he lost to Ted Kennedy with 41 percent of the vote. He garnered more support than many expected. He lost, but he was not done. He would eventually run again and become governor of Massachusetts. He would later run for President twice, losing the GOP nomination to John McCain in 2008 and losing against incumbent President Barack Obama in 2012. In 2018 he ran for and won a seat in the Senate as a Republican Senator from Utah. One single moment of clarity, consciousness, and conscientiousness distinguishes Senator Romney, propelling him above all other Republicans currently serving in the capital. His action represented in the light of day what many Republicans will only say behind closed doors. In Donald Trump’s Senate Impeachment trial Senator Romney was the only Republican to vote to convict, a powerful and tremendously courageous example of serving not one’s party, but rather the American people. He will go down in history as the only senator to ever vote against his own party’s president in an impeachment trial. Yes, this too is American political courage.

John McCain Hero.jpg

JOHN McCAIN

John McCain has been and always will be revered as an American hero. Strong-willed, brash, confident, steadfast, loyal, a man who believed in the promise of America and its people.  The son and grandson of American warriors, Admirals, he followed family tradition into the military. His career was cut short when he was shot down in Vietnam, a prisoner of war as a guest of the infamous Hanoi Hilton. His capturers learned who he was and thereafter called him “Crown Prince.” After just under a year of confinement and torture his jailers offered this scion of American military might release. They would send him home. He refused. He would not go home before his compatriots. He would not jump the line and be released before other POWs simply because he was Admiral McCain’s son. He would stay and suffer profoundly for five years. The current leader of the GOP, President Donald Trump did not consider Senator John McCain a war hero.  He said, “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” This President said Senator McCain did not deserve the title War Hero. At this, every reasonable Republican, every American should have been and should still remain disgusted. While Senator McCain was serving his country this President was shirking, ducking and dodging with five deferments. Still, McCain moved beyond the President’s feeble words, the product of a feeble mind. As a final act and true profile in courage that would warm the hearts of healthcare recipients nationwide Senator John McCain stood on the floor of the Senate, and there for all the world to see he held aloft a right arm that could not rise far above his shoulders due to torture and pointed his thumb down. He pointed that thumb as one of three needed GOP votes against the President’s healthcare overhaul bill. Senator McCain had been diagnosed with brain cancer, which would very soon take him from this world. Still, Senator McCain walked with purpose onto the Senate floor and put a capstone on a life that would become legend. He was no fan of Obamacare, but he loved the Senate and its processes and ability to do good work for Americans. To him, this was not good process, this was not good work. Senator John McCain is an American profile in courage and Donald Trump would do well to learn from his example, though we know he never will.

GEORGE BUSH

This Republican President was seen by many as tremendously flawed. We remember Iraq. However, he will always be remembered for rallying our nation when it was attacked, an act of aggression that would see its culmination in the destruction of one of history’s most notorious men. The American action to take this man down was instituted with clarity by another President of a different party. These two men and their families have become quite friendly. Moreover, once upon a time President Bush was a strong proponent of the American dream for Americans as well as those who wish to become Americans, no matter their ethnicity. He proposed a path to citizenship for some 12 million undocumented immigrants. This was an action in courage for a better GOP.

I will be the person that has the courage to stand up and take my party back!

The Need

We are doing what is right. We want our vote to count for what’s right. We want our vote to help remove Donald Trump from power. Donald Trump has destroyed the Republican party and too many republicans refuse to see it. If unchecked he will destroy America

The Call

We will be a party that can honestly support all Americans and feel proud as a Republican. Our core beliefs will not conflict negatively with the result of our voting for a Democrat. In fact, it will finally help drain the real swamp.
